the law performs circumcision for men
The law performs circumcision
According to the Shari'a there is no age requirement to perform circumcision, but seeing the above considerations, the scholars divide the time for circumcision to be carried out in two times, namely:
a. Mustahab time (sunnah time) before puberty.
Some scholars are of the opinion that circumcision is a sunnah law carried out at the age of seven, but other scholars are of the opinion that it is good to have circumcision at any age.
b. Mandatory time
The obligatory time for circumcision is when the child is of age because at that time a child is already subject to the obligation to perform prayers. Therefore he must fulfill all the conditions for prayer such as body purity, clothing, and places from uncleanness. One of the ways to make a man's body pure is by circumcision.
Circumcision is human nature, nature is something that should exist in every human being, such as cutting nails, trimming mustaches, shaving pubic hair, and so on. Human nature aims for humans to be neat and clean. As the words of Rasulullah SAW which means:
There are five fitrahs: 1. Circumcision 2. Shaving pubic hair 3. Plucking armpit hair 4. Cutting the mustache 5. Cutting the nails (HR. Bukhori).
A Muslim who performs circumcision is proof of obedience to Allah SWT and the Sunnah of Rasulullah SAW. In a history it is stated that there was a man who converted to Islam in the presence of Rasulullah SAW, he then ordered the person to shave and circumcision. The story proves that circumcision is a fitrah that can lead a Muslim to attain purity of birth leading to the perfection of worship. A Muslim who worships must be clean because he is facing his Lord.
Circumcision is best done when a child is still a child because at that time they have not yet received the obligation to worship. However, there is no definite age at which a child must be circumcised, some are 7 years old and some are 10 years old. According to health experts, babies who are one day old can be circumcised if possible and do not harm the baby himself.
Rasulullah SAW once circumcised his grandchildren Hasan and Husein at the age of 7 days. Even though there is a difference in the timing of circumcision, circumcision should be carried out before reaching puberty. If a child is circumcised before he is an adult, then when he reaches adulthood he is ready to carry out his worship perfectly. Circumcision is part of the Islamic requirements for every Muslim male. Circumcision is a means of self-purification for Muslim men as a legal requirement for worship, circumcision is also a differentiator between Muslims and non-Muslims.
